A l’époque, Michael Brisgau, dit Mick, avait 25 ans et était l’un des policiers les plus brillants de sa génération. Aujourd’hui, il réintègre la police criminelle après avoir passé 20 ans dans le coma. Le monde a bien changé mais pas lui. Ses méthodes de travail tout droit sorties des années 80 vont rapidement se heurter au monde moderne. Et ce n’est pas la seule chose à laquelle il va devoir s’adapter: son ancien coéquipier Martin Ferchert est désormais devenu son chef, et Mick se retrouve avec comme nouveau partenaire un débutant, alors que sa femme Lisa a un nouveau compagnon…
